Why put your child in daycare?

If you were to ask a kindergarten teacher what is the most important thing for a child to know before starting school, the answer will not be knowing the alphabet, how to count or how to write. They will tell you a child having learned appropriate school behavior in a licensed daycare facility or pre-k setting is the most important.

Things such as getting along with peers, resolving conflicts in an appropriate fashion, navigating a structured day and how to follow rules and listen to their teacher. These are skills that are learned most effectively in a school setting such as a daycare or pre-k, even if it is just a couple days a week. This will help your child prepare for a smooth transition into formal school.
